While maintaining the dart's characteristic of high controllability, the TYPE2 emphasizes on providing a good clean release as the dart is thrown.
The most important factor that came into consideration when trying to evolve the TYPE1 was to improve how the dart would provide cleaner of release when thrown. The gripping point of the dart consists only of ring cuts.
From the back of the barrel, the cuts are placed in the order of ring cut, double ring cut and triple ring cut. The dart is designed so that the cut becomes more grippy as it gets closer to the center of the barrel.
Kondo Shizuka grips the dart in a way that her fingers covers the barrel and such there are more surface areas that are in contact with her thumb and index finger on the barrel. Hence, the variance in the cut is designed based on the order of how the fingers comes off of the barrel as a dart is thrown. This contrast in cut strength is what contributes to a clean release of the dart.
The taper angle on the gripping position was steeper in the previous model. In this model, the taper angle was eased up and was made thicker to allow the dart to be solidly held that also leads to good clean release.
The Flores TYPE 2 is a barrel designed with the mindset that it should fit and appeal to a wide range of players. While maintaining the characteristic of Flores in its high controllability, TYPE2 significantly improves how the dart is released from one's fingers.
